I LOVE your description/explanations of the clays. I use a number of clays including bentontite in my shaving soap. Thanks for information.

If you have any photos of what the various clays look like in soap, I'd love to see them! I just recently experimented a bit with using them in soap and loved the colors. I tried French Green Clay, Rose Clay, and Red Clay.

Thank you for mentioning shaving soap, Margaret. That is another fabulous use for Bentonite, and our other clays. It lends such a pleasant texture and lather to soap.

Hi Rurality. While we don't have any pictures like that on hand, it is a pretty cool idea. That just might make an interesting wintertime project over here at FromNatureWithLove.com. In the meantime, you might be able to do a little recon by googling every clay followed by the word "soap". It maybe take a while, but there must be pictures out there somewhere!

By the way, you have a great blog! I especially loved the Game Cam photos. What a cool idea.

I wanted to tell you how much I appreciate your very informative info on all of the different clays. I'm basically a "newbie" at the creating of natural products, although I enjoy it, it's much more difficult then I had thought it would be. I've just purchased the clay sampler & look forward to trying out all of the recipes as well as the helpful hints that you all provide. Creating is such fun as well as the sense of satisfaction I get when I know that I've made beauty products that are free from any pollutants that are not helpful to the aiding towards beautiful skin!! Thanx...

Hi there,
I've used clays in soaps and it really imparts a very creamy color without being overpowering. The rose comes out a lighter pink, especially in the Goats Milk and other opaque soaps. The green also comes out creamy. In clear based soaps, like a clear olive base, it still permeates the entire soap, with enough mixing, it suspends in it. I've used both with a clear soap and walnut shells (fine) for exfoliation. They have a stronger color but still muted.
Hope this helps!
Kris

I just received my first order from you guys and used a bunch of it today - it's all AMAZING! A friend recommended you, and I'm so happy. Of course, this clay post makes me want to buy that now too...I guess I'll add that to my list for next time. Thanks for offering up such great stuff!

I have ordered a few different clays and I have been extremely happy with all of them I have gotten from you guys! You are always very informative when I have questions and your shipping times are great!

Missy,

Thank you for your insight into the colorings of different clays in melt & pour soaps, Kris. Choosing the right additive can be tricky, this is sure to help!
